Carlos P. Romulo had a multifaceted 50-year career as an educator, soldier, university president, journalist, and diplomat. He was the first Asian president of the UN General Assembly and later served as Philippine Ambassador to the US and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Romulo was also a prolific author who wrote 18 books encompassing novels, autobiographies, memoirs, and oral histories of his experiences with Philippine presidents and at the UN.
