1) An Air Canada DC-9 aircraft carrying 91 people rejected takeoff at Edmonton International Airport after striking a flock of birds during takeoff roll. 2) The captain believed both engines were damaged and continuing the takeoff posed a greater risk than rejecting takeoff. 3) The takeoff was rejected at 167 knots with only 3000 feet of runway remaining, and the aircraft could not be stopped before overrunning the end of the runway. No one was injured.
