Can I read Autonomic Control of the Lower Urinary Tract on EtoBox?

Autonomic Control of the Lower Urinary Tract by Takeya Kitta; Naoki Yoshimura is a book available to read on EtoBox.

What is Autonomic Control of the Lower Urinary Tract about?

The functions of the lower urinary tract to store and periodically eliminate urine are regulated by a complex neural control system in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system and are mediated by multiple neurotransmitters. The storage phase of the urinary bladder can be switched to the voiding phase either voluntarily or involuntarily. Although reflex micturition control is organized in neural circuits, voluntary control over this dynamic process of micturition is highly dependent on central nervous system pathways rostral to the brain stem circuitry. This chapter summarizes the anatomical, neurophysiological, and brain imaging studies in humans and animals that have provided insights into the peripheral and central neural circuitry that are responsible for controlling the voluntary and reflex micturition.
