What is Primary Care: Making Connections (State of Health Series) about?

This book looks at primary care in a broad way which goes beyond the idea that it is only about general practice. It explores the linkages involved in that extended view through an examination of the history of development in healthcare and through the application of a systems analysis to that process. In light of that discussion it then examines the current organization and management of primary care and the fragmented professional staffing in relation to the demands of a primary care led NHS. These chapters lead on to consideration of new forms of organization in primary care and the development of the professions involved and their education and training.
