What is Hochiki ALK-V Photoelectric Smoke Sensor about?

The ALK-V photoelectric smoke sensor from Hochiki America detects optically dense smoke from smoldering fires. It has a fast response to both flaming and smoldering fires while avoiding false alarms. The sensor uses an LED and photodiode arrangement to detect smoke particles scattering light. When smoke density exceeds a threshold, an interrupt is transmitted to the fire alarm control panel. The sensor can be programmed and automatically compensates for contamination.
