This study assessed the use of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) as a vertical aerated filter for removing phosphorus from wastewater. RCA was obtained from crushed concrete waste and sieved to sizes between 5-10 mm. The RCA was tested in lab-scale column filters with synthetic wastewater containing 10-50 mg/L phosphorus.
