This study assessed the use of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) as a vertical aerated filter for removing phosphorus from wastewater. RCA was obtained from crushed concrete waste and sieved to sizes between 5-10 mm. The RCA was tested in lab-scale column filters with synthetic wastewater containing 10-50 mg/L phosphorus. Results found the RCA had a high capacity for absorbing phosphorus due to its calcium, aluminum, and magnesium content. After two months, phosphorus was detected on the RCA surfaces using
