What is 2024 Propuesta, Ctenomys Peruanus Como CR about?

The document proposes listing the Peruvian tuco-tuco (Ctenomys peruanus) as a critically endangered species due to its drastic population decline, with fewer than 50 mature individuals remaining in a single locality. Recent surveys indicate local extinctions at previously recorded sites and ongoing threats from hunting and habitat loss. The authors urge conservation efforts to address these anthropogenic threats and implement management plans for the species in Peru.
