What is Flixborough Disaster Overview, 1974 about?

The Flixborough disaster occurred in 1974 at a chemical plant in Flixborough, England owned by Nypro (UK) Ltd. A cyclohexane leak from Reactor 5 ignited, causing a massive vapor cloud explosion that killed 28 people on site. The plant produced caprolactam by oxidizing cyclohexane with air in a series of six reactors. The disaster was caused by the rapid acceleration and possible detonation of the cyclohexane vapor cloud formed by the pressure release of 40 tonnes of cyclohexane.
