About this document
Squirrel Cage vs Wound Rotor Overview by ACouh CHi JOsh is a document available to read on EtoBox.
A squirrel cage motor consists of a rotor made of steel laminations with embedded aluminum or copper conductors. When connected to an alternating current, the stator winding generates a rotating magnetic field that induces current in the rotor. The interaction of the stator and rotor magnetic fields produces torque, causing the rotor to rotate.
