The Tayport Primary School band has been very successful despite using 60-year-old instruments from the defunct Tayport Town Band. The band has 12 students and 2 teachers who rehearse for 2.5 hours daily. Brian Hutton, an 11-year-old who plays the tenor horn, has been playing for 5 years and enjoys music more than football. Their teacher, Mr. Hillan, works to keep the old instruments in working condition but they are continuously breaking down and the band needs new instruments to compete without handicap.
