We make use of the notion of 'doubled fixed point' in the graph of an exceeding mapping, to give new combinatorial interpretations (a) for the Euler finite-difference tableau relating the sequence n! to the sequence of derangement numbers, and (b) for the Seidel tableau generating the Genocchi numbers of first and second kind.
