This study investigates the effects of prenatal exposure to mestranol and progestins on testosterone synthesis and reproductive tract development in male rats. Mestranol significantly reduced testosterone production in both foetal and adult testes, while progestins did not show similar effects. The findings suggest that in utero exposure to certain synthetic sex steroids can lead to long-term alterations in testicular function and development.
