What is A Hardware-Assisted Heartbeat Mechanism For Fault Identification in Large-Scale IoT Systems - Anna about?

The article presents a hardware-assisted heartbeat mechanism for identifying faults in large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) systems, which is crucial given the anticipated regular device failures. The proposed technique utilizes a lightweight control-flow integrity check to monitor the function-call stack of devices, achieving approximately 90% fault detection with minimal hardware overhead. This approach addresses the challenges of diagnosing failures in complex IoT environments by automating the identific
