This study evaluates the susceptibility of various maize hybrids to root-lesion nematodes (Pratylenchus neglectus and P. crenatus) in New Zealand, revealing significant variation in nematode reproduction and damage among hybrids. Hybrids P9127 and P8805 were identified as highly susceptible, while P0891, P8500, and P1613 showed moderate resistance. The findings provide essential benchmarks for future breeding efforts and nematode management strategies in maize cultivation.
