About this document

Cytogenetic Study of Yellow Flower Mutant in Grass Pea by Frontiers is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A rare yellow flower mutation was identified in irradiated grass pea. Cytogenetic analysis revealed it was heterozygous for a reciprocal translocation, designated RT-6. Inheritance studies showed the mutation was monogenic and recessive. The translocation transmitted at approximately 47% in selfed progeny and 46% in crossed progeny. Crosses with other translocation lines confirmed RT-6 was independent. Primary trisomic analysis located the mutation on chromosome VI, 10.31 cM from the translocation breakpoin
