This study compares executive functioning in patients with bipolar disorder (BD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD) to clarify the cognitive differences between the two. Results indicate that BD patients exhibit deficits in strategy formation and planning, while BPD patients show deficits in planning and problem-solving compared to healthy controls. These findings suggest that executive dysfunction may help delineate the boundary between BD and BPD.
