What is Lake Sturgeon Status Report 2006 about?

The COSEWIC report assesses the status of the Lake Sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens) in Canada, identifying multiple populations as endangered, special concern, or threatened due to significant declines primarily from overfishing and habitat loss. The report highlights eight designatable units across various regions, detailing their current status and threats. Habitat degradation from dam construction and pollution is a major concern, impacting spawning sites and overall population health.
