What is Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Fish Bile - A Rapid Method of Analysis Using English Sole (Parophrys Vetulus) From Puget Sound, WA, USA about?
This study presents a rapid method for analyzing endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) such as bisphenol A (BPA), 17b-estradiol (E2), and 17a-ethynylestradiol (EE2) in fish bile using English sole from Puget Sound, WA. The method demonstrated that BPA and E2 were detected in 100% and 70% of the fish analyzed, with concentrations varying significantly between urban and non-urban sites. This research provides the first environmental data on these EDCs in marine fish bile from U.S. coastal waters.
