Although not a second edition, it is derived from <STRONG><I>Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery</STRONG></I>, published in 1984. It is divided into four sections. This book is intended to be both a surgical atlas and a resource for the diagnosis and management of problems falling within the realm of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Although these are worthy objectives, they are not met adequately. The sections on basic information and anatomy and development are complete, up-to-date, and meet the stated objectives. The section on the management of acute adnexal trauma covers eyelid and canthal injuries, but does not address orbital trauma. The section covering conjunctival and surface disorder is lacking in photographs, diagrams, and discussion of some important topics, but references are made by the author to an as-yet incomplete volume 2 of this monograph, the complete contents of which are not specified.
