This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of four artemisinin-based treatments for malaria in 3428 pregnant women across four African countries. The results showed that dihydroartemisinin–piperaquine had the highest cure rate and acceptable safety profile, while artemether–lumefantrine had the fewest adverse effects but the lowest post-treatment prophylaxis. Overall, all treatments were effective, but significant differences in efficacy and side effects were noted among the groups.
