Bishnu Shrestha, an Indian Army Gurkha soldier, fought off 40 armed robbers on a train to save an 18-year-old girl from rape. Using his khukri knife, he killed 3 robbers and injured 8 others in under 10 minutes, allowing the train to continue safely. For his bravery and devotion to duty, Shrestha was awarded the Sena Medal and Sarvottam Jeevan Rakhsha Padak.
