About this document

KUKA Collision Detection Configuration by Rodrigo Caldeira is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Collision detection is an improved torque monitoring function that reduces the risk of damage if the robot collides with an object. It monitors axis torques during motion and triggers a stop if torques deviate from a calculated tolerance range. The tolerance range is automatically calculated by the robot controller after 2-3 program runs. Users can define offsets to adjust the sensitivity of collision detection response. Certain motions like home positions cannot be monitored by collision detection.
