The Brazilian National Survey on Hospital Nutrition (IBRANUTRI) studied 4000 hospitalized patients across Brazil to assess malnutrition prevalence, physician awareness of patient nutrition status, and use of nutrition therapy. The study found that 48.1% of patients were malnourished and 12.5% were severely malnourished.
