What is Light from the yellow star : a lesson of love from the Holocaust about?
Intended for use in teaching junior high and high school students about the Holocaust. Contains recollections and reproductions of art works by Fisch, a Hungarian Jew born in 1926 in Budapest. In 1944, after the German occupation of Hungary, he was sent to a labor camp; in 1945 he was taken on a death march to Mauthausen and Gunskirchen, where he was liberated. After the war he returned to Hungary; he emigrated to the U.S. in 1957. Fisch attempts to convey the message that "it is not the ugliness of hate but the beauty of love which survives in time." (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
