As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation develops in the UK, there has been an increased need from volunteers to support individuals affected by the virus or to assist in the delivery of essential activities. Voluntary work has included shopping, packing and delivering food, medicine and supplies, as well as driving healthcare staff around, helping with food banks and homeless services, fund-raising and making donations, and providing emotional support through telephone helplines to tackle loneliness and social isolation.
