This manuscript investigates the effects of increasing copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) on the mechanical properties of high strength low alloy (HSLA-100) low carbon steels. The study demonstrates that higher concentrations of Cu and Ni significantly enhance yield strength and tensile strength while maintaining acceptable toughness levels. Experimental results show that optimal processing conditions can achieve yield strengths up to 160 ksi (1102 MPa) with notable improvements in hardness and tensile properties.
