Only AVDI and FVDI can read data and calculate security data from MED17 ECUs. Starting with VAG 18.0, FVDI can obtain the 6-byte security data and PIN by reading the EEPROM and flash memory of MEDC17 ECUs. The document provides instructions for connecting a PC, FVDI, USB cable, MEDC17 adapter, dongle, and power supply. It also includes steps for disassembling the MEDC17 ECU, connecting it to the adapter, using the FVDI device to read data from the ECU in VAG 18.0 software, and reassembling the ECU.
