What is David Livingstone: Missionary and Explorer about?

David Livingstone was a Scottish medical doctor, missionary, explorer, and anti-slavery activist. He spent many years in Africa exploring uncharted territories and seeking to end the Arab slave trade. Livingstone hoped to open Africa to Christianity and commerce by mapping routes across the continent. Though he failed to establish missionary stations, his expeditions and writings helped end the slave trade in Africa and inspired others to continue his humanitarian work.
