What is Understanding the Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex about?

The triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) forms part of the extrinsic volar ligaments of the wrist and consists of the triangular fibrocartilage disc along with several surrounding ligaments that reinforce the disc and provide stability to both the distal radioulnar joint and the carpus. The TFCC functions to maintain stability of the distal radioulnar joint, prevent pronation and supination of the carpus, and prevent nondissociative carpal instabilities.
