What is Memex about?

The memex, a concept introduced by Vannevar Bush in 1945, is a hypothetical electromechanical device designed to store and retrieve vast amounts of information through associative trails, mimicking human memory. It aimed to enhance personal knowledge management by allowing users to create, annotate, and share links between documents and ideas. The memex has influenced the development of hypertext systems and personal computing, with its legacy evident in modern information retrieval technologies.
