This case study discusses a cooling package solution for BEML dump trucks used in Indian coal mines. The cooling package was designed to permit continuous operation with minimum maintenance for 85T and 100T rear dump trucks powered by a 727kW MTU 16V2000 engine. Between 2007 and 2009, 38 cooling packages comprising copper/brass engine cooling for all circuits and multi-louvre fin technology for maximum heat transfer were supplied.
