This study aims to analyze thunderstorms over India using satellite rainfall data from 2001-2021. The researchers identified thunderstorms using a percentile threshold of the IMERG satellite rainfall dataset. They found the 93rd percentile threshold best identified thunderstorms in eastern India, confirming 82% of detected events.
