About this document
Enhancing Bacillus licheniformis Protease Production by cbb.chintan7014 is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Bacillus licheniformis was used to produce proteases through fermentation of wastewater sludge. Different pre-treatment methods were tested on the sludge including thermal alkaline hydrolysis. One method involved mixing raw sludge with hydrolyzed sludge, which increased protease production by 15% compared to untreated sludge. The benefit of hydrolysis was attributed to improved oxygen transfer and increased nutrient availability. However, hydrolyzed sludge also caused more foam formation during fermentation
