The Hyundai Getz received a four star rating for adult occupant protection. It had single-stage airbags for the driver and passenger, seat-mounted thorax and head airbags, and front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. Child restraints provided generally good protection but the Getz offered little safeguarding for pedestrians. Loads recorded on the driver and passenger dummies were quite high in frontal impact tests while side impact protection included dual chamber side airbags.
