The study presents evidence against the interbedding of Triassic evaporites within Turonian sediments in the Koudiat Sidii area of north-western Tunisia. Geological mapping and biostratigraphic data indicate that Triassic rocks form the core of an anticline, with the western flank exposed and the eastern flank collapsed under Quaternary deposits. The findings suggest that Triassic materials were extruded during the Turonian period, contradicting previous interpretations of their stratigraphic position.
