About this document

Anti-Sickling Properties of Ceiba pentandra by 20-0045 Sherly Lupitasari Prasetya Putri is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the anti-sickling properties of an aqueous extract from the trunk bark and branches of Ceiba pentandra, identifying the methanol insoluble fraction as the most active in preventing sickling of red blood cells in sickle cell disease patients. Phytochemical analysis of the most effective sub-fraction revealed the presence of catechin tannins, anthocyanosides, reducing compounds, and amino acids. The findings support the traditional use of Ceiba pentandra in treating sickle cell disease
