About this document
Greinacher Voltage Doubler Circuits is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The Greinacher voltage doubler circuit transforms an AC input voltage into symmetrical DC outputs of twice the input peak voltage using diodes and capacitors. The Villard voltage doubler produces twice the input peak voltage at a single output and can be cascaded to form a voltage multiplier circuit with arbitrarily high output voltage. However, in practice cascading more than 10-20 stages is not effective due to voltage drop from output current flowing through the capacitors.
