What is Spacecraft Swarm for Earth Monitoring about?

The document discusses the development of a software framework called IDEAS for designing spacecraft swarm missions aimed at monitoring active Earth features, particularly volcanoes, using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology. It highlights the advantages of small spacecraft constellations over traditional large satellites for timely and cost-effective Earth observation. The research includes algorithms for spatial and probabilistic coverage evaluation to optimize the swarm
