This study analyzed 205 pediatric patients with pancytopenia admitted to a hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan over 6 years. The most common causes of pancytopenia were found to be aplastic anemia in 28.3% of patients, hematological malignancies in 23.9%, and megaloblastic anemia in 19.5%. Other identified causes included idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, iron deficiency anemia, hemolytic anemia, and infections such as visceral leishmaniasis.
