This study investigates scrub typhus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in children, highlighting its increasing recognition as a significant complication. Out of 58 children with scrub typhus, 18 were diagnosed with HLH, showing clinical predictors such as younger age, prolonged fever, and convulsions. The findings suggest that treating the primary infection typically resolves HLH, and immunomodulatory therapy is not routinely necessary.
