This study investigated the impact of phosphorus pollution on macroalgal communities at three sites along the Egyptian Red Sea coast. Water analysis showed higher phosphate levels at two polluted sites near phosphate factories compared to an unpolluted site. The polluted sites had significantly lower macroalgal biomass and poorer algal vegetation, dominated by different types of algae depending on the season.
