What is Solomon Bernfeld about?

Solomon Bernfeld was a resourceful man who survived imprisonment during World War 1 and the Holocaust. During World War 2, he was imprisoned and forced to help build a bridge, where he was injured. A friendly doctor advised him to escape by hiding on a freight train, where he endured several days without food or water before making it to safety. Though injured, he survived and later worked as a carpentry instructor until his death.
