What is II. Content of the Commentary about?

Ibn Bāğğa's commentary begins by addressing some topics covered by Aristotle in various works and generally related to the Gen. et Corr. The complexity of Ibn Bāğğa's thought within the framework of the Aristotelian tradition is immediately apparent from the way the Andalusian philosopher introduces the subject: "it has already been explained in the De Caelo that there are four simple bodies" [par. 1.1]. It becomes clear that Ibn Bāğğa does not regard the Gen. et Corr. as a text to be systematically commented on, but rather he plans to use the questions raised by Aristotle as an opportunity to treat the arguments independently. While, in most cases, the basic Aristotelian argument can be easily traced through Ibn Bāğğa's commentary, in some cases the treatment of the subject seems detached from Aristotle's Gen. et Corr. Schematically, five main sources can be singled out in constant interplay: De Caelo (Περὶ οὐρανοῦ), Metaphysics (Τὰ μετὰ τὰ φυσικά), Physics (Φυσικὴ ἀκρόασις), Meteorology (Μετεωρολογικά) and of course Gen. et Corr.
