What is ASER For Volunteers about?

The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) is a significant survey in India assessing the learning levels of children aged 5 to 16 in rural areas, conducted annually since 2005. The findings reveal that while school enrollment has improved, many children struggle with basic reading and arithmetic skills, raising concerns about the effectiveness of education. ASER serves as a crucial tool for policymakers and educators to identify learning gaps and enhance educational quality in India.
