What is John Clare about?

The poet hid his love for a woman until he could no longer bear even small annoyances like flies buzzing. He would see reminders of her wherever wildflowers or woodland sights appeared and have to say goodbye to his love again. The poet met his love in green dells where bluebells grew and bees and sunlight touched her, but he had to keep their love secret all through the summer, to the point that even silence and the breeze seemed to haunt him with the secret of his love for her.
