What is Human Information Processing Models about?
Human information processing can be modeled in a few ways. The Newell-Simon model views a human as an information processor with sensory input, motor output, and three types of memory - long term, short term, and external. In this model, humans process information serially, one task at a time, unlike computers which can process in parallel. Human information processing is also limited by short term memory constraints and difficulties detecting small differences or assessing probabilities.
