The type-specimens of Tracheliastes gigas Richiardi, 1881 were found in the Crustacea Collection of the Museum ftir Naturkunde in Berlin, Germany. Some new details regarding the host ("Acipenser"), locality (Taganrog, Sea of Azov) and collector (S~inger) were revealed.
