What is Aristotle about?

Aristotle posits that understanding a thing requires knowledge of its four causes: material, formal, efficient, and final. He emphasizes that the substance of an object is a combination of its matter and form, which together define its essence and purpose. This perspective contrasts with the Atomists, who focused solely on physical causes without considering purpose in nature.
