This document describes a study that developed and evaluated a five-axis laser milling system for directly milling zirconia crowns from fully sintered blocks. The study compared the accuracy of crowns milled using the five-axis system versus a three-axis system and conventional method of milling semi-sintered crowns and sintering. The five-axis system produced crowns with almost perfectly circular marginal and internal shapes and minimal gaps, whereas the other methods resulted in distortions and larger gap
