About this document
Physico-Chemical Comparison of Betulinic Acid, Betulin and Birch Bark Extract by 2003homy is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study compares the physico-chemical properties of betulinic acid, betulin, and birch bark extract, and investigates their cytotoxic effects on various cancer cell lines. The extraction process yielded a high concentration of betulin (up to 57%) and demonstrated significant cytotoxic activity against skin epidermoid carcinoma, breast carcinoma, and cervix adenocarcinoma cells. The findings suggest that birch bark is a viable source for extracting these compounds due to their pharmacological potential.
